Many sci-tech subjects were applied into production and daily life of people in the province over the past time, bringing high effects. From 2013 to June, 2014, the whole province signed contacts to carry out 9 sci-tech tasks, checked 59 results from sci-tech subjects. There were many sci-tech projects with high reality…
Effective application
Thuong Van Hieu, Director of provincial Department of Science and Technology (DoST) said that provincial DoST reached many good results in sci-tech development from 2013 to 2014’s first 6 months.
Particularly, provincial DoST implemented a project on application and transfer of safe vegetable-growing techniques under VietGap standards in Tan Uyen town’s Thanh Hoi commune. Other project applying intensive farming on pomelo under VietGap standards in North Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune. The two projects helped bring the local people high economic efficiency.

There were also many other sci-tech subjects with high economic efficiency. Flexibility was one of the province’s advantages in scientific research, helping the local people apply sci-tech advancements into production and daily life. There were many sci-tech projects with high flexibility, namely “Measures to develop scenery around Saigon riverside to become a highlight of Binh Duong’s cultural identity, make a map on the province’s land price”, “Manufacturing freeze dryers with the capacity of 50kg per batch” by Minh Anh Company…All the subjects helped uphold high economic efficiency into reality, contributing to taking the province’s measures on socio-economic development.
To achieve the above results, provincial DoST inspected and promoted the implementation of sci-tech subjects on schedule, said Mr.Hieu.
Long-term orientation
Mr.Hieu said that many good sci-tech subjects have also been proposed for the rest of 2014 and 2015. They include the subjects on “scientific and real basics to make orientations and measures for socio-economic development, promoting the province’s industrialization and modernization process; “socio-cultural issues arising from industrialization & modernization and measures for them”
In terms of health field, there were 5 key subjects, including those of “sci-tech advancements to raise the effectiveness of public healthcare”, “materials for making up medicine”…
According to Mr.Hieu, the province will attach importance attachment to industrial manufacture, helping enterprises reach sustainable development in the coming time. The province will focus on subjects making machines and equipment for industrial production to replace imported products in line with domestic production conditions. The province will also pay attention to sci-tech subjects on agricultural production for better results.
