Particularly, Thuan An is now one of the province’s localities with high economic growth with 30,000 households getting involved in trade-services, 5 supermarkets, 7 plazas and 24 markets. The town’s total retail sales of commodities and services over the past six months reached VND26.23trillion, a year-on-year increase of 23%.
According to leaders of Thuan An town, thanks to having a favorable geography, the town has gained sustainable development. In terms of trade-service, the town is now home to plazas, banks…The town will further promote services at the local people’s demand for shopping in the coming time.
Whilst, Di An town’s total retail sales of commodities and services over the past six months achieved more than VND33.94trillion or 50.16% of the year’s plan.
Provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that the province’s targets on industrial production over the past six months reached and surpassed the set plan. Noticeably, the province’s total retail sales of commodities and services obtained vigorous growth in comparison with the same period of last year. The province was active to implement many programs on market development, demand stimulation and price stabilization, including the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”…Upon this, the province’s total retail sales of commodities and sales reached more than VND92.21trillion, up 17% compared to the same period of 2017.
Efforts to stabilize market prices
The country’s consumption price index (CPI) in June is expected to increase slightly at 0.4%-0.6%.
According to the General Statistics Office, the CPI in May surged 0.55% against April, the highest level since 2012. Among 11 commodity groups, five significantly contributed to the CPI increase, including medicines and medical services, education, transportation, food and foodstuff.
In general, the CPI in the first five months of 2018 increased by 3.01% compared to the same period of last year and is on the increasing trend in the next months, making pressure on market management of the Government.
Meanwhile, according to locals, the price of some commodities at traditional markets in the province is increasing strongly. According to Huynh Thi Thuan residing in Thuan An town’s Lai Thieu ward, the price of live pigs has dropped to VND1,000 per kg compared to the previous two months. But, the retail price of pig meat has not decreased yet. Some other basic consumer goods have still been at certain surge. The price of gasoline continuously increased after 2 times of adjustment in May.
It is hoped that the shortage of supply of pork and other essential consumer goods groups will not occur in the coming time…
