Provincial agricultural sector: Average value of products on a hectare of farming land reaches over VND90mln

Early January 16, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to review its activities in 2013 and launch emulation movements in 2014.

The province’s agricultural sector last year continued shifting towards the growth of animal husbandry. Its structure was developed with the respective proportions of 68%-27.1%-4.9% in cultivation-animal husbandry and services. The output of some main products gained a high growth. For example, the output of rubber latex grew by 1.1%, cattle and poultry meat by 1.9%. The average value of products on a hectare of farming land reached VND90mln, up 4.8%.

The province’s 5 pilot communes on rural new construction basically fulfilled criteria of the program. 44 out of remaining 55 communes also reached 9 criteria of the program and above… For 2014’s targets, the province’s agricultural sector will strive to increase by 4% in the production value of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in comparison to 2013; get 56,9% of the ratio of forest and perennial tree coverage and 97.5% of the ratio of households in use of clean water…

Addressing the conference, provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Van Nam praised the sector for its achievements over the past time. He also required the sector to focus on some main tasks, including speeding up sci-tech application into the process of production, processing and preservation; assessing investment incentives in the rural areas; well realizing the national target program on new rural construction in association with the industrialization and modernization process…
