Provincial Department of Construction receives and works with from MoC and NAEC’s delegation

On the afternoon of January 9, Huynh Pham Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Construction, received and worked with a delegation from the Ministry of Construction (MoC) in collaboration with the National Assembly's Economic Committee (NAEC). The delegation, led by Phan Duc Hieu, Permanent Member of the NAEC, surveyed and explored the current status of urban development investment in the province.

The event was attended by representatives from Becamex IDC, the New Binh Duong City Trade Center and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

An overview of the meeting

At the meeting, representatives from provincial Department of Construction informed the delegation of the following topics: Binh Duong's goal of becoming a centrally run city before 2030; the results of implementing the Binh Duong Smart City Project; urban rejuvenation efforts; investment in developing new urban areas and key infrastructure projects.

Accordingly, to date, Binh Duong has had 1 first-class city, 1 second-class city and 3 third-class cities, with these 3 areas currently working on proposals to upgrade to second-classes cities. The urbanization rate of the province has reached nearly 85%.

Binh Duong New City will become a center of Binh Duong Smart City

Provincial Department of Construction has advised provincial People's Committee on consideration and issuance of a resolution on upgrading essential technical infrastructure facilities in residential areas in both urban and rural areas by 2030 within the province. Currently, the province is focusing on investing in key infrastructure projects to create a favorable foundation for the local socio- economic development such as belt roads 3, 4 projects, a project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13, a project on the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway...

In his speech, Mr. Hieu praised achievements done by Binh Duong in urban construction and development in recent years and expressed his confidence that Binh Duong will soon meet criteria to become a centrally run city before 2030.
