In recent years, provincial Farmers’ Association and all affiliates have promoted propaganda, gathered members to implement successfully plans accelerating provincial economy. Besides, provincial farmers have quickly adapted to economic restructuring, applied new production models, new technologies into agricultural production to enrich themselves.
Many examples
Farmer Nguyen Thanh Ha living at Vinh Hoa commune in Phu Giao district started to plant orchids in 2010. Initially, he did this just for amusement. Then he noticed its high profit plus he had experiences, so he decided to expand his garden. After 4 years, he has now a 2000m2 garden of nearly 6,000 orchids.

He usually participates in trainings, workshops of orchid planting techniques, exchanges experiences with other farmers to improve his garden. Due to methodical investment and planting, his garden yields high and stable profits. He said, to achieve this, Farmers’ Association has supported him many things.
Farmer Le Khac Ngai living at Tan Hung commune in Bau Bang district received financial support from provincial Farmers’ Association and succeeded in mushroom growing. His 160m2 garden yields daily 30kg mushroom sold with VND40,000/kg. According to Mr. Ngai, it is not difficult to grow mushroom and he does not use any plant protection products. Therefore, his mushrooms have been sold out quickly. He also said, majority of mushroom on the market come from China. Therefore, domestic mushroom growing ensuring food safety is indispensable.
Staying side by side with farmers
In addition to finding proper agricultural models for farmers, the association and affiliates frequently organize training courses, workshops for new technique transfer to farmers. Successful examples have been encourages other farmers to develop their business.
According to Phu Giao district Farmers’ Association’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Dung, during the first 9 months of 2014, they opened 121 training courses to transfer technologies to farmers, organized visits at successful models to exchange experiences.
Up to now, provincial Farmer’ s Association has allocated VND14bln to their affiliates to support farmers. According to provincial Farmers’ Association’s Vice Chairman Lam Van Hoa, farmer-supporting fund has facilitated home-based agricultural businesses of members, contributing to rural economic transformation. Additionally, successful farmers have volunteered to contribute to this fund to support other members.
At the present, some provincial localities established clubs, cooperatives with closely collaboration between members in producing and consuming process. And Farmers’ Association has played a significant role to support brand name building process.
