After two-year implementation, the Green Book of Binh Duong has received the attention of domestic-invested and foreign invested enterprises. According to enterprises, the Green Book of Binh Duong is of important significant for them as it is the meter of their responsibility in environmental protection while helping promoting their trademark.
Substantial profits
Following the success of the announcement
of the Green Book of Binh Duong 2011, the Greek Book of Binh Duong 2012 has
just been announced to honor enterprises that have made contributions to environmental
protection.

Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment made inspection of environmental protection for 122 enterprises in the province. This was based on their implementation of the Law on Environmental Protection and other relevant issues. As a result, there were 47 enterprises listed in the Green Book of Binh Duong 2012 or 38% of total, including 10 domestic-invested enterprises and 37 foreign-invested ones.
Vo Thi Ngoc Hanh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that the Green Book of Binh Duong 2012 saw increase by 15 in the number of enterprises compared to 2011. Noticeably, there were 5 enterprises getting 100 points under the ranking criteria.
Also according to Mrs.Hanh, trademarks and information of enterprises in the Green Book of Binh Duong 2012 will be popularized. Being listed in the Green Book also makes it easier for businesses to enter foreign markets and be recognized by foreign partners as businesses need to surpass different technical barriers including environmental standards if they are to enter foreign markets. It is also important for businesses to increase exports and develop their trademarks.
Enterprises satisfied
Under enterprises’ point of view, the Green Book of Binh Duong is of important significance. MaoZhiGang, General Director of Esquel Gament Manufacturing Vietnam Co.Ltd. said that his company has made efforts to combine business development with environmental protection, helping it be listed in the Green Book of Binh Duong.
Esquel Garment Manufacturing Vietnam Co.Ltd. now operates in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park, with more than 4,000 laborers. The company always sees environmental protection as an important element to its sustainable development. Since 2006, the company has built and maintained its environmental management system under the ISO 14001-2004 standard.
In 2012, with its constant development, the company has built one more factory with 10,000 sq.m in total. This is considered a factory effectively using energy to minimize the environmental impacts…With the above efforts, the company was listed in the 2012 Binh Duong Green Book. The company will further promote its business and production activities in association with environmental protection.
Similarly, the Dong An branch of Dien Quang Lamps Joint Stock Co. (JSC) , a domestic-invested business along with four foreign-invested enterprises, namely Kumho Tires Vietnam Co.Ltd., Yazaki Eds Co.Ltd., Kirin Vietnam Beverage Co.Ltd., the pharmaceutical factory of Roussel Vietnam Co. reached the green ranking – the highest ranking – in the 2012 Binh Duong Green Book.
Le Xuan Nghiem, Director of Dien Quang Lamps JSC’s Dong An branch said that the Green Book of Binh Duong is a significant program, helping encourage and call for organizations and individuals to pay attention to environmental protection while helping improve enterprises’ competitive ability and trademark.
Provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Van Nam has also applauded enterprises’ efforts in environmental protection in order to be listed in the provincial Green Book while wanting that they will further uphold and maintain results done in environmental protection. The local authorities at all levels also need to speed up dissemination of information about ranking criteria of the Green Book among enterprises for better implementation.
