Provincial leader receives Danish Embassy’s delegation

*Denmark’s Pandora Corporation signs investment agreement of nearly US$ 100 million in VSIP 3

On the afternoon of May 12, Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, agencies had a meeting with a delegation of the Embassy of Denmark, led by Kim Hojlund Christensen, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam. Joining the delegation was Jeerasage Puranasamriddhi (Khun Aussie), Supply Director cum Managing Director of Pandora Group in Thailand.

At the reception, Mr. Kim Hojlund Christensen thanked leaders of Binh Duong province for their affection for Denmark, Danish corporations and enterprises investing in Binh Duong. He said that after researching many localities across the country, Pandora Group finally decided to invest in Binh Duong.

For his part, Mr. Danh thanked Pandora Group for its evaluation to the province and welcomed its project in Binh Duong. The province will create the most favorable conditions for Pandora Group as well as investors to work effectively. *On the afternoon of the same day, under the witness of leaders of provincial People's Committee and departments; Kim Hojlund Christensen, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, the Directorate of Pandora Group in Thailand, leaders of Pandora Group and VSIP Company signed an investment project of nearly US$ 100 million in VSIP 3.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Jeerasage Puranasamriddhi, Supply Director cum Managing Director of Pandora Group in Thailand affirmed: The signing ceremony marks the first time the group has built a production facility outside Thailand. Pandora currently employs 14,000 people at its crafting facilities and produces about 100 million pieces of jewelry each year. Pandora is committed to investing nearly US$100 million in the coming years to realize a new, world-class jewelry making facility. Once being completed, the group’s new facility in Vietnam is expected to account for about one-third of Pandora's total output of handmade products and will employ between 6,000 and 7,000 workers. Pandora aims at starting construction of the project in the first quarter of 2023 and hopes to have the first products in the fourth quarter of 2024. Pandora is currently the largest European jewelry manufacturer in Thailand.

At the ceremony, Mr. Danh also affirmed that VSIP 3 will be a place for Pandora to develop its long-term strategy and do business effectively. The local authorities are committed to creating all favorable conditions for Pandora Group to work. He also thanked the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Hojlund Christensen for introducing corporations to Binh Duong for investment cooperation and mutual development.
