At the working session, Tomoya Sato, Director of Financial Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) said that this working visit aimed to discuss a water supply project for Binh Duong New City and industrial parks in the northern region of the province as well as ODA capital-borrowing policies. Japan is very interested in the project and gets ready to support it under the PPP form. If being implemented successfully, it will contribute to promoting Binh Duong’s socio-economic development while creating a motivation for the province to absorb more investors.
Addressing the working session, Mr.Liem thanked the JICA for its assistance to Binh Duong’s projects, especially the Southern Binh Duong water environment improvement project over the past time. He added: “Binh Duong will have a demand for the project under the PPP form mentioned by MEIT and JICA in the next three years. But now, Binh Duong intensively needs capital for projects in terms of infrastructure development, education…Therefore, he wants that JICA and METI will report this issue to the Government of Japan for cooperation orientations under the PPT form in the above mentioned fields…”.
