On the afternoon of September 20, Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation received newly-appointed Consul General of Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City Kho Ngee Seng Roy. The event was also attended by Nguyen Van Hung, CEO of Becamex IDC and leaders of sectors, departments in the province.
At the reception, Mr.Nam congratulated Kho Ngee Seng Roy on his new position and said that he was very delightful at the attention of the Singaporean diplomat to the local development. Singapore has so far ranked second among countries and territories investing in the province. Provincial leaders have always seen the Singaporean business community as an important partner and created favorable conditions for enterprises from the country to work. The provincial leader also expressed his hope that Kho Ngee Seng Roy will boost cooperation between Vietnam-Singapore in general and Binh Duong-Singapore in particular.
Kho Ngee Seng Roy, for his part, thanked provincial leaders for their efforts in supporting Singaporean enterprises over the past time while emphasizing that he will further call for Singaporean enterprises to make investment in Vietnam in general and in Binh Duong in particular.
*The same day, newly-appointed Consul General of Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City Kho Ngee Seng Roy also paid a courtesy visit to Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
The chairman stressed that Binh Duong has regularly organized dialogues with enterprises, aiming to opportunely deal with difficulties, queries by enterprises, facilitating their production-business activities. He also wanted that the Singaporean diplomat will continue supporting Binh Duong in calling for investors from Singapore as well as strengthening cooperation between Becamex IDC and Singapore’s Semcorp.
Many Singaporean enterprises want to pour great investment into factories in automation with hi-tech products in Binh Duong. The birth of VSIP III will create favorable conditions for the province to further absorb investors in the coming time.
