In the morning of 7 Sep, at Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Provincial People's Committee held an online conference with American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AMCHAM). Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the conference.
In the opening speech, Vo Van Minh informed that amidst the developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, Binh Duong drastically implemented solutions to fight the coronavirus, protect the health of people and workers in industrial zones and clusters in the area. Up to now, the Covid-19 outbreak in the province has been basically controlled. To implement the motto of safe production, the province is actively performing many solutions to proactively reopen production and business activities, transition to a new normalcy. Provincial leaders wished to listen to opinions of the business community, together solve existing difficulties, quickly restore production, and resume the supply chain in the new situation.
At the conference, Mary Tarnowka, CEO of AMCHAM, appreciated the pandemic prevention and control work of Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular as well as the support and sharing of difficulties from the provincial government. Binh Duong has had very good disease prevention and control strategies to be able to gradually control the current Covid-19 wave. Besides, the province has good plans to support businesses and workers during the anti-epidemic period.
Representatives of AMCHAM presented some difficulties in the "three-on-site" model being applied in enterprises; if prolonged, it will lead to large costs, and working spirit of workers will be affected. In addition, the import of raw materials is currently facing difficulties, the circulation of goods, inter-provincial travel has also encountered obstacles, causing production chains of businesses to be disrupted. Therefore, the delegates suggested that the province soon have solutions to help businesses to maintain operations in the new normal state, such as: Create favorable conditions for enterprises to transport goods within and between provinces; continue to allow foreign experts to return to work in Binh Duong; improve the "three-green" model; soon provide the second Covid-19 shots for workers, foreign workers and contractors to gain community immunity, assist businesses in recruiting workers...
Concluding the conference, responding to specific recommendation of businesses, Provincial People's Committee Chairman directed relevant levels and branches, Management Board of Industrial Parks, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Health to integrate and carry out synchronously five groups of solutions to speed up the vaccination schedule; direct drastically to help enterprises to return to normal operation, check and solve difficulties in handling administrative procedures; effectively manage the handling of F0s in enterprises; set up the "three-green" model, soon agree with other provinces and cities, especially Ho Chi Minh City, in supporting the transport of workers so that businesses could fully resume production as soon as possible. The province also grants autonomy to businesses in Covid-19 testing for workers.
