Early September 26, leaders of provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in the province.

The meeting aimed to inform these enterprises of the local socio-economic performance in 2016 and in the first nine months of 2017 while listening to their suggestions, which was presided over by Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
Reportedly, the province absorbed more than US$4.3billion in FDI capital in 2016 and in the first nine months of 2017. As of September 15, 2017, there were 2,997 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$27.7billion…
Mr.Liem said: “In the coming time, the province will further focus on improving the local investment climate, competitiveness and supporting enterprises. The province will mobilize all resources to perfect the local socio-economic infrastructure systems on traffic, water supply, electricity, environmental treatment…at investors’ development needs.
*The same day, provincial People’s Committee also forwarded a periodic session to approve the local report on socio-economic performance, national defence-security in the first nine months of 2017 and major tasks for the rest of the year. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee chaired the session.
Over the past nine months, most of the province’s major targets on socio-economic development continued reaching high growth with social welfare ensured, political security and social order maintained. But, there were some problems on capital disbursement for basic construction, public healthcare, traffic safety…for change.
The session also discussed major tasks for the rest year, including focusing on taking measures to promote all sectors; shorten the time for phases of public investment; hastening the progress of construction of expanded industrial parks and new ones; well realizing policies for revolutionary contributors and poor people, especially on Tet and great holidays…
Concluding the session, Mr.Liem asked for provincial Department of Planning and Investment to speed up the progress of basic construction; have good preparation so that the local basic construction in 2018 will gain more positive change. Sectors and localities were also ordered to well carry out major tasks from now till year-end, contributing to fulfilling the local plan on socio-economic development in 2017.
