On the afternoon of April 16, Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee received a delegation from China’s PCI Technology Group, led by Bi Yu, Vice-Chairman of PCI Technology Group at provincial Administrative Center. The delegation paid a courtesy visit and discussed potential cooperation on railway projects and the development of Binh Duong Smart City. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Becamex IDC, Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company (THACO Group) and leaders from provincial departments and agencies.
At the meeting, Mr. Minh shared information on Binh Duong’s socio-economic development achievements and outlined the province’s development goals, including the expansion of a connected transportation infrastructure system. This includes Metro Line No. 1, with an overall investment plan estimated at approximately VND 64.370 trillion (equivalent to over US$ 2.5 billion)... In addition, in order to drive socio-economic development in Binh Duong and Tay Ninh provinces, the two localities have proposed the construction of the Bau Bang (Binh Duong) – Moc Bai (Tay Ninh) railway line. The section passing through Binh Duong province is approximately 31 kilometers long with a standard gauge of 1,435 mm and is planned for development after 2030. This railway line, connecting Bau Bang district and Moc Bai Border Gate, will be a branch of the Trans-Asian Railway passing through Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces. This railway line, connecting Bau Bang district and Moc Bai International Border Gate, will be a branch of the Trans-Asian Railway traversing Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces. From the station in Bau Bang district, a branch line will extend towards Tay Ninh, running parallel with the nearly completed North Tan Uyen – Phu Giao – Bau Bang arterial road in the northern region of Binh Duong.
Mr. Minh expressed his belief that with PCI’s expertise in urban rail and technology development, the Group can share valuable experience with Binh Duong and open up cooperation opportunities with local enterprises in line with the province’s master planning.
Sharing with provincial leaders, Mr. Bi Yu stated that with PCI’s experience and development potential, the corporation will open up opportunities for cooperation in areas where Binh Duong province is actively seeking and attracting investment, including the development of metro and railway systems. PCI Technology Group is ready to connect with businesses in the province to cooperate and develop together in the future.
