On Oct 13th, PPC’s Vice Chairman Mai Hung Dung had a meeting with Binh Duong Customs. Provincial Customs’ Deputy Director Nguyen Truong Giang briefed works of building transparent and strong customs force, modernizing customs operations, advantages, difficulties and achievements in the first 9 months; namely, applying electronic customs procedures to 4,111 companies, increasing 9.48% year-on-year; opening 773,132 declarations, increasing 14.6%. Total import and export value reached $25,497 billion, increasing 9.13%.

Tariff agreements have taken effect, tax revenues fell 11% year-on-year, mainly in industries: cattle feed, agricultural machinery. From now until year-end, Binh Duong Customs will accelerate reform and modernization; implement strictly “Declaration of customer service" under the motto “Professionalism - Transparency - Efficiency"; fulfill and surpass revenue targets
Concluding at the meeting, PPC’s Vice Chairman Mai Hung Dung praised achievements and efforts of provincial Customs, especially the internal unity. The sector should put more effort to complete revenue targets through promoting modernization, improving customer services, and constantly innovating.
