On the afternoon of September 24, Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation received Ang Kong Hua, Chairman of Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries.

At the working session, Mr.Nam affirmed that the first VSIP, a joint venture between Vietnam’s Becamex IDI and a consortium of three companies from Singapore, led by Sembcorp Industries is a typical model on Vietnam’s industrial development. Currently, the model is developed in 6 provinces and cities nationwide. With the support of Sembcorp Industries, these projects have so far absorbed more than US$13billion. He also wanted that the group will further support the province in developing regional infrastructure systems, logistics and solutions in promoting renewable energy, increasing the added value of industries towards socio-economic sustainable development.
Ang Kong Hua, for his part, said that Sembcorp Industries has always seen Becamex IDC in particular and Binh Duong in general as its strategic partner. With high growth in the index of industrial development attraction plus great strides in smart city construction, he wanted that Binh Duong will get more policies on land fund for industrial development, waste treatment, traffic infrastructure, smart energy and e-business so that the group has strategic development orientations in the province.
*The same day, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee received Ang Kong Hua, Chairman of Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries.
At the reception, Mr.Liem said that over the past time, province-based VSIPs worked very effectively. In the coming time, Binh Duong in general and Becamex IDC in particular want to further get support from the group while believing that the cooperation between Becamex IDC and the group will get more thriving, contributing to the local development .
Ang Kong Hua, for his part, stressed that during the 23 past years, the cooperation between Becamex IDC and the group was so successful. In the coming time, the group will further try to make its ideas come true; be determine to promote VSIPs with new advances, especially in urban and sustainable energy development .
