Provincial localities disburse over VND 100 billion to support pig farmers

Up to 5 Nov, localities in the province disbursed over VND 100 billion to support pig farmers, who had been forced to destroy swine to prevent African swine fever.

From 20 May (the first day of the African swine fever epidemic) to the end of 5 Nov, the whole province had 1,371 households / farms in 83 communes, wards and towns of 9 districts, towns and cities that had pigs infected with African swine fever. The number of pigs forced to be destroyed was 86,281. The rate of total pigs died and forced to be destroyed compared to the total number of pigs in the whole province was estimated at 13.03%.

The province has 52 communes, wards and townships have no report of new outbreak over 30 days. However, there are still 9 communes/wards that have new outbreaks after 30 days. It is worth noting that African swine fever has now entered some large-scale concentrated farms in the form of closed farms. The reason is that these farms have not strictly implemented the bio-security process.
