Provincial Party Committee holds meeting of steering committee on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development

On the afternoon of February 10, in line with the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in national science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, provincial Party Committee held the first meeting of provincial Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development. The meeting was chaired by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation. Attendees included Nguyen Loc Ha, Permanent Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council; members of provincial Party Standing Committee; Nguyen Van Hung, CEO of Becamex IDC, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies.

An overview of the meeting

 Speaking at the meeting, provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Loi requested the Steering Committee to develop a concrete and clear action plan that aligns with national objectives and sets specific implementation targets. He also emphasized that Binh Duong's breakthroughs must be closely linked to a spirit of innovation, creativity, bold thoughts and decisive actions.

Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the Steering Committee to focus on investment in roads and electricity infrastructure facilities, upgrading technical and social infrastructure facilities toward smart development, create clean land funds for industrial-urban-service growth. He emphasized administrative reform to establish a transparent and attractive investment environment while actively addressing business challenges and providing support. Regarding digital transformation, he urged the concretization of action plans and the establishment of satellite science and technology industrial zones to transfer researched and applied technologies from central hubs, attracting investment and driving economic growth. He also requested members of the Steering Committee to get opinions and finalize draft regulations on functions, tasks, authority, working mechanisms and coordination of the Steering Committee.

At the meeting, provincial Party Standing Committee agreed to propose the establishment of provincial Advisory Council, designating Becamex IDC as the focal point for the council's operations. They also approved a proposal on the establishment of a working group to support the Steering Committee.

Additionally, the Steering Committee outlined several goals, tasks and solutions. The overall objective is to shift the economic growth model toward the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green economy, circular economy, knowledge-based economy…
