Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision approving Bio-industry development program in Binh Duong province for the period 2017-2020 with orientations towards 2030.
Accordingly, the program set out several targets, such as developing key and essential products contribute to local economic growth; To develop a number of bio-industrial enterprises and create a favorable and open market; To train enough human resources of high quality, creative capacity and capable of mastering technologies; to establish a bio-industrial cultivation center for start-ups and a system of scientific research and technological development in bio-industry. By 2025, a 20% increase in the number of bio-industrial enterprises, contributing at least 5% to GDP; by 2030, an increase of at least 50% of bio-industrial enterprises, contributing at least 7% to GDP.
Provincial People's Committee assigns Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with related departments, higher education institutions in the province and people's committees of districts, towns and city to enhance dissemination, propaganda of the Party and State’s guidelines, policies and views on bio-industrial development.
