The program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural
areas” is one of the industry and trade sector’s practical activities in

Customers feel pleasure when buying commoditied at the market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”
From successful market-days…
So far, the market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” have been organized in remote communes of the districts such as Ben Cat, Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng. Each market-day absorbs around 20 enterprises with 50 booths displaying a wide range of products: home appliances, ready-made clothes, cosmetics, chemicals…
The market-days regularly see the attendance of enterprises participating the province’s price stabilization program, namely Coop Mart, Thanh Le General Trading Import Export Corporation Enterprises... Recently, Pham Ton Company has taken part in such a market-day with chicken meat products for the first time.
Although not being under the province’s price stabilization program, many enterprises have offered discounts on their products when participating in the market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”. In addition to giving 15%-49% discounts, participating enterprises like Nhi Thi, Trung Thao, Minh Suong, Mai Thu, Hung Thanh Tai…have presented gifts, including bowls, glasses…, to customers.
The markets-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” are called “joyful market-days”. This is actually exact as both participating enterprises and customers have felt very happy. Over the past time, many market-days were crowded with buyers and sellers. Some reached one billion dong in total sales.
As planned in 2013, provincial DOIT’s Trade Promotion Center will organize 14 market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”, up 7 compared to 2012. So far, 13 such market-days have been organized. It is expected that in 2014, the center will hold around 10 such market-days and 1 fair on the province’s socio-economic achievements.
Possibly speaking, the market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” with many significant activities have contributed to disseminating and mobilizing people in the rural areas of the province to have a right assessment about the quality of Vietnamese goods while bracing up them to use Vietnamese goods.
More support needed
Although reaching encouraging results, the province’s program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” have faced a lot of difficulties, especially in the issue of absorbing enterprises’ participation.
To attract more participating enterprises, provincial Steering Board of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” and functional agencies need to take more synchronous and practical measures while suggesting the Ministry of Industry and Trade to have more suitable support policies. Especially, the local functional agencies need to further inspect and speed up the implementation of the campaign in some localities, enterprises to remove difficulties and disseminate good ways for better results.
It is known that provincial Department of Industry and Trade has submitted a plan on building trade-service infrastructure and re-zoning retail/wholesale network at the local residents’ demand for consumption to provincial People’s Committee. For a long-term strategy, the development of the rural market in the province will be implemented more methodically.
Initially, provincial DoIT will increase mobile trips of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”, helping the local rural people easily get access to Vietnamese goods towards the beneficial goal to the country and people.
According to Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information under provincial DoIT, most commodities at the market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” focus on food, foodstuff and products in the price stabilization program. They are made in Vietnam with reasonable prices together with many after sales programs. Many enterprises have actively participated in the market-days as realizing that this is an important distribution channel.
Nguyen Tan Loc, Vice-Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that the province’s program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” has created an interaction between supply and demand. It has helped participant enterprises to promote their products for consumption market expansion, meet and share experience with partners. Meanwhile, rural people will have a chance to get access to hi-quality Vietnamese goods, especially those for agricultural production… He added that giving priority to using Vietnamese goods amid current difficulties is a beneficial action to the country and people, expressing each citizen’s responsibility and patriotism.
