During the 2010-2015 period, Binh Duong province gained outstanding achievements in economic, cultural, social, defense and security fields. To introduce these accomplishments to the people in and outside the province, the province will hold “Binh Duong 5-year Socio-economic Achievements Exhibition 2010-2015”. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Le Huu Phuoc (photo), Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of provincial Big holidays organizing committee.
- Sir, what were outstanding achievements of the province in the 2010-2015 tenure?
- In my opinion, in the 2010- 2015, despite the common difficult context, provincial Party and government directed the implementation of provincial Party Congress Resolution, and resolutions, policies of Central Government. The province also made detailed directions for each sector to carry out socio-economic, defense - security tasks, measures to curb inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, ensure social security, facilitate production. As a result, provincial inflation was kept under control, the economy maintained high growth rates, social security was guaranteed, defense – security was upheld. Competitive capabilities of provincial brands have been improved remarkably, and Binh Duong is one leading province in the renewal.
- Binh Duong province has focused on cultural development corresponding to economic development. During the last tenure, which remarkable results did Culture, Sports and Tourism sector achieve?
- As a leader of this sector, in addition to the attention of provincial leadership, enthusiasm of sectorial officials, we organized many practical activities serve the people’s need for entertainment. Thereby, cultural life and environment had positive changes; the quality of "All people unite to build cultural life" movement has been improved. cultural arts activities met basic needs of the people; communication and propaganda was enhanced with many forms to serve political tasks; sports activities spread extensively. The sector also performed well socialization in cultural, sports activities. Every year, the proportion of households achieving cultural standards rises and reaches 95% in 2015.
- As a member of the organizing committee, how do you assess the advantages, difficulties in organizing the exhibition?
- The exhibition will take place from October 26th to 31st at Lucky Square Convention - Events Center with the participation of about 300-350 booths inside and outside the province, including about 150 booths of departments, unions, districts, towns, city, businesses in the province; and about 200 booths of businesses inside and outside the province.
Binh Duong has recently held provincial 40-year socio-economic achievements exhibition, thus we had experiences in arrangement and preparation. In addition, this exhibition has been planed since early this year, thus has a long time for the preparation. However, there are difficulties, the number of visitors may be low, due to distant location. Thus, we have enhanced propaganda of the exhibition among the people; encourage in and outside the province to introduce and sell their products at the fair in order for people to be able to purchase high-quality products with low prices; the fair will also have cultural shows every night to serve visitors.
- In addition to introducing the province's achievements, which means does the exhibition have, sir?
- The exhibition is to welcome the 10th Provincial Party Congress (2015- 2020 tenure) and the 12th National Party Congress; create an opportunity for enterprises of all economic sectors in Binh Duong and southern area to introduce their products and services in order to explore markets, promote trade activities. This is also a chance to accelerate international exchanges between sectors and localities nationwide for mutual development, competitiveness enhancement, socio-cultural development. Besides, the exhibition will be a destination for people to visit, entertain and buy products, meeting people’s need for cultural enjoyment.
- Thank you, sir!
