Up to now, Vietnam has participated in and completed negotiations of 12 bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements (FTA). These are favorable conditions for enterprises to approach new partners, expand investments and increase exports. In Binh Duong, catching this opportunity, many companies have invested in new modern production lines, introduced new products to the world and gradually consolidated its brand name.

Applying modern technologies into production
With the advantages from joining the FTAs, enterprises will be able to access modern production technologies of advanced countries, like: USA, Japan ... Since Vietnam signed ASEAN free trade agreement (AFTA) in 1996, Vietnam – Japan economic partnership agreement (VJEPA) in late 2008, Binh Duong enterprises have determined to innovate their production lines to enhance competitiveness. Mr Pham Quoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Ton Dong A JSC, said that to "survive" in the market economy, the application of scientific – technological advancements was a very important factor. Ton Dong A JSC has invested in many modern production lines, such as: gold, zinc, aluminum-plated production lines with NOF technology based on standards of Japan, Europe, USA.
Manufacturing technology is the key of an enterprise, because good technologies will create good products with high quality. Therefore, Huu Toan Corporation built two factories generating electric generators, compressors and other types of agricultural machine; one factory is located in Binh Duong province (Thuan An Town) and one factory is located in Chu Lai economic zone (Quang Nam). Both factories are equipped with modern mechanical system, infrastructure applied CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology, product quality is strictly managed under ISO 9001: 2008 standards certified by UKAS (United Kingdom).
Building a solid brand
In addition to setting up suitable development strategies for each stage, the innovation of production lines has brought good results, helped to generate high-quality products and gradually consolidated company’s brand name on the international market. Besides successful names on the international market like Minh Long I, Ton Dong A…, other companies have gradually built up their brand name. Thien Duoc Company (South Tan Uyen Industrial Park, Tan Uyen Town), by enhancing technology research, drug manufacturing plant of the company has gained enough international standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), good laboratory practice (GLP), good storage practice (GSP) ... The company has exported their product Crila forte to USA.
To Huu Toan Corporation, the application of modern technologies into production has helped to brought its products to more than 30 nations around the world with an annual export turnover of over 5 million. Mr. Ta Huu Toan, General Director of the company, said with its competitive advantages, the company has researched and developed new products to export to developed countries. To prepare for these markets, in June, the company will launch new product, electric generator with 600 KVA - 2000 KVA power, which meets all standards of developed countries in the world but has a lower price than similar products.
