Cooperative model is considered as the core of the collective economic component in the socialist-oriented market economy of Vietnam. In Binh Duong, this model has been making positive changes when newly established cooperatives are increasing. Many cooperatives operate effectively, making important contributions to the local socio-economic development.
Collective economy in general and cooperative economic model in particular always receive attention from the Party and State; proposed many guidelines and policies for development. Specifically, in 2002, the 5th Plenum of the 9th Central Committee issued Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate, develop and improve collective economic efficiency; In 2012, the Law on Cooperatives was born… Recently, the 13th Central Committee also issued Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new period. These are the right guidelines and policies to promote the construction and development of the collective economy and the cooperative economy.
From guidelines of the Party on collective economic development, especially Law on Cooperatives 2012, the cooperative model nationwide in general and in Binh Duong in particular has made strong changes, developing rapidly in both quantity and quality, efficiency. Currently, the province has formed over 230 cooperatives operating under the Law on Cooperatives 2012 in many fields such as agriculture, transportation, handicrafts, construction, trade - services, environment... It is noted that cooperatives always strive to transform and apply science and technology to improve operational, production and business efficiency. In localities with agricultural strengths such as Phu Giao and Bac Tan Uyen districts, many high-tech agricultural production cooperatives have been formed, producing according to VietGAP standards, OCOP program to improve product quality and price, create a foothold for their brand on the market…
However, the local reality shows that the cooperative model is still not developed commensurately, the capacity is still weak, especially the lack of orientation in the process of production expansion, market search, joint ventures and association. ...
