Tasks realized quickly
Provincial People’s Committee since early this year has approved 16 tasks on sci-tech research and development, comprising of 10 with contacts signed and 4 being prepared for signing contacts. In addition, provincial Science-Technology Council has checked and taken over 6 tasks; handed over products of 4 tasks to beneficiary units; inspected the progress of carrying out 14 tasks…

According to provincial Department of Science and Technology (DoST), sci-tech research development tasks have been realized in association with the real situation of sectors, departments, units and localities in the province. For example, they include projects on sustainable management for pepper trees in Phu Giao district, State administration on order-security for industrial parks in the province… The progress of implementation of projects to serve localities in the province, comprising of those on water hyacinth treatment, Dau Tieng mangosteen collective brand name building…have also been promoted.
Active contributions to smart city development project
Provincial DoST is one of crucial units in realizing a Binh Duong smart development project. Hence, provincial DoST has carried out some tasks pertaining to the project, including those of making innovative business startup, surveying labs at six province-based universities and colleges, suggesting provincial People’s Committee to set up a community initiative and business startup support center…
Mr.Cuong said that provincial People’s Committee has ratified a plan on realization of a scheme to support the national innovative business startup ecosystem through 2025 in the province for the period of 2017-2020, thereby contributing to fostering the local sci-tech market through realization of the model of linkage between the State, schools and businesses. Along with this, improving the local innovation index plays an important role in increasing the national innovation index system, promoting socio-economic development of the locality and the nation while enhancing national economic competition compared to the global economic system.
Provincial DoST has also advised provincial People’s Committee on promulgating a plan on realization of the local innovation index for the period of 2017-2020. The implementation of the plan will step by step improve the local innovation index, especially amid the fourth industrial revolution reaching vigorous development. This is also one of factors in implementation of the Binh Duong smart city development project.
