Rearing chicken to become billionaire

 

Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh was born in a farming family and is living in An Lap commune, Dau Tieng district. He has carried out successfully high-tech farming model combined with livestock and crops. 

Demobilized in 1982, veterans Nguyen Quang Minh returned home and determined to get rich from agriculture. After years of hard working for other persons, Mr. Minh patiently reclaimed lands to grow cashew trees. From the initial 2 hectares of land, then he grew rubber trees because of its economic profits. In 1990, his family had 20 hectares of rubber trees. Due to supports of the relevant agencies and locality, his rubber plantation developed favorably. 

In previous years, as latex price was stable, annual income of his farm was billions of VND. Then he invested in chicken raising. Chicken breeding does not require much land, brings high profits, and provide a stable amount of organic manure to fertilize rubber trees. Thus, in 2010, Mr. Minh established a chicken farm and signed subcontracts. Accordingly, farmer invested in coops, electricity, water system, and husbandry; company provided breeding chickens, feed, medicine for chickens, and paid for farmer to took back mature chickens. The income of farmer depends on the results of husbandry.

As a closed and automatic farming model, his chicken farm was equipped with air conditioning cooling system that eliminates the bad odour of chicken. Each coop was built with steel frames and concrete; doors of cooling coops were equipped with temperature sensors to maintain mild temperature of about 22 - 240C... 

According to Mr. Minh, cooling chicken farm requires a high initial cost, but has a healthy environment avoiding diseases. On the other had, the company secures output with stable prices. Due to proper process, his yields have been reach an surpassed weight gain target. He increased his farm from 16,000 chickens by 64,000 ones. Annual income is about VND3.2 billion.

He has also reared 50 breeding pythons like to take advantage of chicken waste as feed. He said, python is easy to raise, do not need much care, has stable price, and annual income of tens million of VND. Furthermore, in 2012, his family invested in 40 cows. He utilized his land to grow 1 hectare of elephant grass to provide for cows. Currently, his family has 10 cows providing 100 - 150 kg of milk/day sold for VND13,000/kg. Mr. Minh said, cow breeding requires good breeds, strict diet, vaccination, and time to eat. After 2 years, cows can supply milk.

In addition, the collective farm of his family also offers jobs to 40 employees with an average salary of VND 3.5 million/person/month. Mr. Minh usually supports disadvantaged persons and rural traffic projects at his locality.
