
My Phuoc-Tan Van road becomes a strategic road of economic development in Binh Duong.
With the tradition of “Opening roads” during the two resistance wars, transport sector in the process of building and development of socio-economy continues to lead in task of restructuring strategic roads to develop local economy.
Making up a solid framework of traffic
Before retirement, Le Thanh Cung, former chairman of the provincial People’s Committee chaired many important meetings on strategic orientation and development of urban traffic system till 2020 and vision 2030. Specifically, task of creating a solid framework on traffic as a foundation for Binh Duong’s sustainable and stable development includes concrete works such as improving the National Highway No.13, DT743, perfecting My Phuoc-Tan Van strategic road, focusing on investing and connecting east-west traffic axis to shrink transport distance between urban areas inside and outside of the province.
At these meetings, Le Thanh Cung always stressed that the National Highway No.13 is an image of Binh Duong province, showing love, duty and determination of local leaders through various stages. The highway must be a civilized, modern, exemplary road. Meanwhile, My Phuoc-Tan Van road is a bridge linking industrial parks and urban areas with ports.
Efforts to take Binh Duong into 1st class urban area prior to 2020
Projects of express bus and urban development around Suoi Tien station co-researched by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Becamex IDC and Becamex Tokyu have been under completion for submitting to the Government in this year. The projects’ purpose is to form up satellite and nuclear urban axis from transit-oriented development (TOD), contributing to change individual traffic means to public means (Bus rapid transit-BRT).
Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee assessed these projects as the first projects well applying the Government’s Resolution 15 on cooperation and investment.
Sakai Yoichiro, CEO of Tokyu Corporation in Vietnam, member of JICA’s survey delegation said that along with improvement of quality, Binh Duong will be a central destination of industrial sector, standard office. More importantly, these projects account for a capital refund rate of 53%.
Besides, the provincial transport sector manages to research project of upgrading and expanding DT743 road linking with industrial parks and compounds in the local Northern and Southern regions, solving traffic congestion in Song Than flyover. In addition, the local administration has hastened progress of investment and completion of east-west traffic axis connecting industrial and urban areas along to Sai Gon River with neighboring provinces.
These important works will turn Binh Duong become one of provinces leading the country in urban development and investment attraction.
