To achieve an annual income of VND250mln, Mr. Ho Tan Thanh living at Bach Dang commune, Tan Uyen town made every effort to learn and implement the most efficient production model. He succeeded with a model following VietGap.
In recent year, many farmers in Bach Dang commune, Tan Uyen town have utilized their land advantages, available resources to develop appropriate planting, breeding according to VietGAP standard to meet market demand as well a enrich themselves. An example is farmer Ho Tan Thanh.

Previously, his family’s farm works required lot efforts but brought low profit. He raised some cows and planted some trees. But he realized this model was old-fashioned and had low productivity, unstable prices. Thus he decided to switch into VietGAP planting model on an area of 5,000m2 with total investment of VND25mln in 2012. He also took notes carefully the implementation process.
Initially, due to lack of experiences, he encountered many difficulties. But he learned by experiences and improved gradually his farm. At the present, he has a two-hectare rice and vegetables farm plus 12 beeves, bringing an annual income of VND250mn.
“With his determination, painstakingness, Mr. Thanh succeeded in agricultural structure transformation to become a example of smart farmer”, said Bach Dang commune Farmer Association’s Chairman Ngo Van Hai.
Safe agricultural production is a new trend, because consumers’ awareness of food safety is increasing. Safe products have higher prices than normal products, but are still consumed well because of meeting safety requirements, protecting consumers’ health.
