Phu Giao district is a locality full of potential in terms of agricultural development. Over the past years, the district actively implemented a lot of solutions to apply sci-tech application into production, aiming to improve the quality of agricultural products.
Effective demonstration
To improve added value in agriculture, Phu Giao district over the past years carried out many solutions, including disseminating and mobilizing farmers to make the shift of plant and animal structure, applying sci-tech applications into production, helping farmers get access to loans for agricultural production…Especially, one of solutions strongly realized by the district with initial efficiency was the shift of agricultural structure towards hi-tech application.
Accordingly, the district bent on solutions to promote linkage models in agricultural production in association with replicating agricultural models with hi-tech application. The district also implemented decisions of provincial People’s Committee on solutions, policies to encourage ecological, hi-tech and urban agricultural models in association with processing industry for the 2016-2020 period…

Thanh Kien guava cooperative with hi-economic efficiency
Along with An Thai hi-tech agricultural park, the district is now home to hi-tech models, farmsteads on cultivation and animal husbandry. Initially, these models and farmsteads like Chien Thang safe vegetable farm, Kim Long agricultural cooperative, Thanh Kien gauva cooperative, Bong Trang cooperative, Phuoc Sang orchid farm…have worked effectively with prospects.
Nguyen Ngoc Thu, Deputy Head of the district’s Division of Economics said that the district’s hi-tech application into agricultural production have so far gained positive changes, contributing to the local economic development. Noticeably, the quality of the local agricultural products has been improved constantly and got more sustainable.
Currently, sci-tech application into agricultural production is an indispensable trend. The economic efficiency from sci-tech application at district-based farmsteads, cooperative groups, cooperatives and households over the past time was seen as an obvious demonstration of the trend of the local agricultural sector.
Sci-tech transfer strengthened
Tan Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s agricultural production over the past time got more thriving. Many households herein bravely made the shift of plan structure. There were also many hi-tech agricultural models with productivity and product quality enhanced, contributing to promoting the local agricultural sector.
However, according to Mr.Dat, the district’s agricultural sector has still faced obstacles on workforce, harvest techniques, trade skills…for change. In order to get sustainable production, the district has also set a joint plan on the realization of scientific activities with schools, institutes, provincial Department of Science-Technology…Particularly, the district has just coordinated with HCM city’s University of Technology and Education to disseminate several sci-tech activities for the 2018-2020 period, serving the local agricultural production.
The district also teamed up with provincial Department of Science-Technology, the Southern Fruits Research Institute, Binh Duong University and some relevant units to carry out tasks on sci-tech research, aiming to promote the local hi-tech agriculture….
