Phu Giao district’s Party Committee and People’s Committee have always made efforts towards a locality with hi-tech agriculture. But, the district has also attached special importance to industrial manufacture, trade-services, which is considered as a fulcrum for the local agriculture to reach more sustainable development.
Trade-service shifted in the right direction
In recent years, Phu Giao district’s economic structure has been shifted in the right direction. Noticeably, the sector of industry and trade has made contributions to the local common development.
To Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of Phu Giao district said that the district’s Party Committee has promulgated the Action Program No.22a on “Industrial, home industrial development for the period of 2016-2020”, with a goal of helping this field reach harmonious development with the local economy. Under the program, the district’s People’s Committee has instructed the local functional agencies to set up measures on development of industry and trade with focus on building markets, supermarkets, plazas to promote trade activities.
Thanks to well implementing targets on development of industry, home industry, trade and service, the district has obtained a great economic shift. The sector of industry and trade has created a breakthrough in the local economy.
The district has to date formed up some groups of industries and home industries of processing agricultural products, tapping and processing minerals, manufacturing building materials, processing furniture items with middle and small scale…The district is also home to 5 industrial compounds. Among them, Tan Lap 1 industrial compound now has a semi-steel radial tyre making factory under construction for the phase 1, which is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2018.
Promoting local economy
Over the past time, Phu Giao district completed a plan on the network of rural markets in new-style rural communes. The district has so far had a total of 5 markets with effective operation at people’s demand for buying and selling commodities. Many temporary markets have also been formed in some communes of An Binh, An Thai, Phuoc Sang, Tan Hiep…, thereby contributing to meeting people’s demand for goods exchange as well as creating favorable conditions for them to get access to supply of goods. The district has also attached special importance to industrial promotion, helping a variety of facilities, enterprises surmount their obstacles in production-business, encourage production investment and development…
In 2018, the district’s industrial, home industrial production value was estimated at more than VND3.33trillion or 100.86% of the year’s plan and up 12.86% compared to 2017. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services reached more than VND5trillion or 100.76% of the year’s plan and up 20.76% against 2017.
Mr.Dat affirmed that over the past time, the district’s industry, trade and service made great contributions to the local development process. This result has also helped the district fulfill socio-economic targets under the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure.
