Seeking for measures to open up and allocate FDI flow

August 16, at Binh Duong New City, Ministry of Planning and Investment held a conference to assign work in the Southern Region in 2012. Attending the conference were leaders of Ministry of Planning and Investment, Department of Foreign Investment, Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem and leaders from departments and sectors involved in the provinces of Southern Region.On the agenda were summary of FDI attraction in the first 6 months of the year and plan for the last 6 months of the year, report on local management of FDI, discussion about circumstances, obstacles, and difficulties in promoting investment, licensing and managing FDI projects, proposals for obstacle removal for the time to come, discussion about coordination regime in promoting, managing, and inspecting investment activities.Addressing the conference, Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem stressed that the conference is aimed at promoting investment and FDI flow in Vietnam. He showed his belief that the measures proposed at the conference would be optimized to attract more FDI. FDI has long been a foundation for Binh Duong Province in economic development ranking.In the fews month of this year, about USD 2.3 billion has been allocated to the province through FDI.In 2006, Binh Duong Provincial Authority has changed policy of investment luring by shifting to sustainable development with favorable conditions of industrial projects that are well-planned and environment-friendly.Reported by K.
