Severe sanctions against violations of fundamental construction tender reinforced

Early April 12th, Economics and Budget Board of provincial People’s Council held a meeting to monitor the legislation imposition on local-budget-financed fundamental construction tender of municipal Department of Planning – Investment, Department of Transport and Investment Projects Committee.According to the Department of Planning and Investment, from 2010 to 2012, the province had 2,413 approved projects, tenders. The total value of projects was VND9211.632 bln, total value of successful tender was VND8875.946 bln, which saved VND 335.686 bln equaling 3.64%. Most of projects belonged to type B and C. In terms of tender selection, assigned tenderers accounted for 83.71%, free tenderers occupied 15.54% of the total. Total value of projects invested by the Department of Transportation in the past 3 years was VND891.505 mln, value of approved tenders was VND826.425 mln that saved VND65,080 bln accounting for 7.3%. The provincial Investment Projects Committee invited 10 tenders for B-typed projects and 1 for C-typed project.At the meeting, representatives of agencies and People’s Council discussed and offered solution to issues pertaining to legal tendering.Generally, Deputy Head of Economics – Budget Board Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong said thanks to 12 opinions, the Board can report the actual situation to provincial leadership for an effective investment of fundamental construction.
