Phu Giao district was re-established on August 20, 1999. To promote the local development, the district set up a target of upholding advantages in agriculture. The district also focused on new-style rural construction.

In the 2016-2018 period, the district mobilized more than VND1.2trillion from many resources, including more than VND479billion from the local people to implement the local new-style rural construction program. Noticeably, the local people made contributions to building up a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
Nguyen Van Tron, a resident in Tam Lap commune’s Dong Tam hamlet is one of the district’s outstanding individuals in new-style rural construction. Over the past time, he donated his land, vegetables and crops to the local new-style rural construction program. He also provided around VND500million in non-interest rate loan for needy people to develop their home based business.
Hoang Quoc Viet, Chairman of Tan Hiep communal People’s Committee said that new-style rural construction was seen as one of the local top tasks. Hence, the commune attached special importance to propaganda work, helping the local people obviously know about their role in the program. This created a high consensus among them, helping the locality well fulfill the program.
As of June 2019, the commune reached all 19 criteria and 51 criteria on new-style rural construction under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.730/QD-UBND dated March 24, 2017.
It is known that all communes in the district have been recognized as new-style rural ones. The district is also perfecting documents for recognizing it as a new-style rural district.
Building up beautiful, prosperous homeland
Nguyen Tan Long, Deputy Head of Phu Giai district’s Division of Economics said that after being re-established, Phu Giao was one of the province’s poor districts. With appropriative ways in economic development, the district has brought into full play the local advantages in order to reach robust growth.
So far, Tam Lap 1 industrial compound has been put into operation. Tam Lap 1, 2, 3 and 4 industrial compounds are calling for investors. Whilst, Vinh Lap industrial park of 500 hectares invested by Becamex IDC are under construction. The district’s sector of trade-services has also gained vigorous development.
Such these apart, 100% of district-level streets have been covered by asphalt. There are now also 100% of the local people in use of national power grid and clean water…
Together with the above results, the district’s Party, government and people have still continued making efforts to build up a beautiful and prosperous homeland, deserving the tradition of a heroic land.
