Vietnam needs to boost opportunities to approach the fourth industrial revolution, in which smart manufacturing is seen as an important element. According to experts, the fourth industrial revolution is bringing Vietnam both opportunities and challenges.

Vietnam now has a very good position in terms of competitiveness in the Asian-Pacific region. Particularly, Vietnam has the advantage in young population with the great demand for high technologies. The Government has also created favorable conditions for enterprises with sci-tech application for development… Experts said that Vietnam needs to assess the advantages of the fourth industrial revolution and the trend of new technologies; share enterprises’ experience in implementing the fourth industrial revolution to promote smart factories; exchange the issue of risk management when all production steps are automated…Especially, the Government needs to focus on perfecting policies, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to quickly approach and promote new technologies and business models.

The Government also needs to continue being proactive to check and abrogate unsuitable conditions. Particularly, the Government will further set up a synchronous infrastructure system, especially promote information technology and communications, digital connection infrastructure facilties, ensuring network security and safety. Vietnam also needs to perfect the IoT network in the soonest time…
