At the meeting, leaders of Southern Electricity Corporation informed the increasing demand for power supply and construction investment in 2018. Specifically, the expected commercial electricity output in 2018 was over 12.1 billion kWh. In the first two months of 2018, power output in the province reached 1.7 billion kWh, equivalent to 15.66% of the year plan. In order to meet the growth demand, according to the year plan, Southern Electricity Corporation continued to invest VND749 billion in infrastructures and networks to complete 15 electricity grid works of 110kV and 16 power grid works. In the period of 2016-2020, Southern Electricity Corporation will invest over VND4,300 billion in power grid works in order to ensure safe and continuous supply of electricity for socio-economic development of the province and region.
In order to ensure adequate supply of electricity to Binh Duong and the region, Mr. Hop hoped that Provincial People's Committee continued to pay attention, support and create favorable conditions for compensation and land clearance of power grid projects, allocation of land fund for power projects according to the approved plan, mobilization of investment capital sources, promotion of energy saving programs.
Mr. Liem noted suggestions of Southern Electricity Corporation. He also said that Provincial People's Committee would direct agencies and sectors to implement the contents according to their functions and assigned tasks. Binh Duong People's Committee believed that in 2018 Southern Electricity Corporation would continue to fulfill the planned targets, ensure the supply and stabilization of power sources for regional socio-economic development in general and Binh Duong Province in particular.
