After 18 years of re-establishment of Binh Duong province (Jan. 1, 1997-2015), Binh Duong nowadays develops strongly and becomes an industrial province in the Southern key economic zone. To gain this achievement, Binh Duong promotes effective solutions to make up a foundation of breakthroughs.
Perfecting infrastructure for development
After the country liberation in April 1975, Binh Duong (Song Be province in the past) started developing economy with admired results. Especially, since re-establishment of the province, upholding Song Be province’s achievements in the past, Binh Duong provincial administration and people have determined to overcome challenges, mobilized general strength to implement the renewal cause.
In order to develop economy, Binh Duong focuses on developing industry to make up breakthroughs. Sustainable solution for this strategy includes building of integrated industrial parks as a lever for development. As such, the entire province now has 29 industrial parks and 8 industrial compounds on the area of more than 10,000ha across districts and towns, compared with 6 industrial parks in 1997.
At industrial parks such as Vietnam-Singapore I, Dong An I, Viet Huong and more in the Southern area there are more than 600 enterprises with the total investment capital of more than US$3.5bil. With the purpose of building infrastructure facilities for a civilized and modern locality, Binh Duong has focused on perfecting investment environment, reforming one-door administration procedures, applying policies and flexible and transparent measures of investment appeal and attraction.

Until now, the locality has had 17,428 domestic enterprises with the registered capital of VND131,557bil and 2,375 FDI projects, capitalized at nearly US$20.4bil.
Big investment of local and foreign investment contributes importantly to economic development, creating high values of industrial production and increasing potentials for local development of trade and service.

Strong development of industry impacts positively on socio-economic areas, especially in areas gathering many industrial parks. Development of industrial parks helps local residents enjoy a comfortable life. This makes up a furious vitality for an industrial province on the way of making up breakthroughs.
Particularly, localities such as Bau Bang, An Tay, My Phuoc, Dat Cuoc and so on seems to be wearing new dresses, changing image of rural areas and spurring urbanization process, bringing a comfortable life for local residents.
Therefore, Binh Duong people’s income is always higher than average income level of the whole country. Till the end of 2014, the locality wins an average income level of VND61.2mil per capita per year and the province no longer exists poor households in line with the national criteria.
Possibly speaking, promoting motivation and creation, local economy gains a high and stable growth, compared with the first days of re-establishment. Specifically, Binh Duong province this year wins VND187,531bil in industrial production value, a 47 fold rise, compared with VND4tril in 1997; total retail goods and service turnover of VND103,493bil, a 409 fold increase against VND3,042bil in 1997.
In the provincial economic structure, industry and service play a key role with the rate of 60.4% in industry, 36.4% in service and 3.2% in agriculture.
Reason making up success of locality lies in hi-unity between the Party, authority and people for implementing the goal for rich people, a strong, democratic and civilized country. This is strength to make up achievements of today and a solid belief for Binh Duong to enrich more glories.
