Early April 3, provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony for the inauguration of 5,000 social apartments in the first phase and the start of construction of 10,000 social apartments in the second phase of the social housing project invested by Becamex IDC. Attending the ceremony were Trinh Dinh Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Minister of Construction; Mai The Trung, Member of the PCC, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial NA Delegation; Tran Van Nam, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; former provincial leaders and representatives of some sectors, departments in the province.

Stabilizing lives of over 15,000 people
The province’s social housing project is invested by Becamex IDC and carried out in six localities, including TDM city, four towns Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen and Bau Bang district.
The 200-hectare project was started construction in February 2012 with a total investment capital of VND12.096trillion. As of now, its first phase has been completed with nearly 5,000 apartments put into use at Viet Sing urban area in Thuan An town, My Phuoc 1 industrial park in Ben Cat town and Bau Bang industrial park in Bau Bang district, thereby helping stabilize the lives of more than 15,000 people living and working in the province.
In a bid to further provide accommodations for low-income laborers, Becamex IDC yesterday started construction of around 10,000 apartment in the second phase of the province’s social housing project in Dinh Hoa ward in TDM city, Viet Sing urban area in Thuan An town and areas with high demand for social apartments like Di An town.
Along with developing social housing estates as planned, Becamex IDC has paid attention to managing and maintaining them so that they are always spacious, clean and beautiful, thereby contributing to forming up satellite urban areas-the foundation for the province’s urbanization process till 2020, according to Nguyen Van Hung, General Director of Becamex IDC.
Second phase to be fulfilled soon
At the inaugural ceremony, the People’s Committees of TDM city and Thuan An town handed over the certificates of house ownership right to households representing 200 ones at Hoa Loi social housing area and Viet Sing urban area. The remaining households will be also granted the certificates of house ownership right in the coming time to be able to quickly stabilize their lives.
The above deed has expressed the maximum support of the local authorities at all levels for home buyers to help them stabilize their lives in a new environment, thereby further making long-term contributions to the local economic development.
According to Mr.Nam, this is a great project with practical significance at the local development demand as well as low-income people’s housing demand in the current period. With favorable elements, it is believed that the second phase of the Becamex social housing project will be also fulfilled on schedule, greatly contributing to the local industrial and urban development process in the next years.
He has also suggested relevant agencies and localities to support and create favorable conditions for Becamex IDC to fulfill the project in the soonest time.
