Strategy on aninal husbandry development for 2021-2030 implemented

Provincial People's Committee has promulgated a plan implementing the local strategy on animal husbandry development for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045 under the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1520.

Accordingly, the sector will strive to reach the average growth rate of production value from 3% to 4%/year for the period 2021-2025. The figure will be from 4% to 5%/year for the 2026-2030 period. There will be 30% of livestock farms granted the good animal husbandry practice (GAHP) certification. By 2025, at least 30% of the province’s animal husbandry farms will be recognized as disease-free ones by the veterinary authority and by 2030, the figure is at least 40% of total.

For the local orientation for animal husbandry development to 2030, pigs and chickens are the two main animals that will continue being developed in the direction of high-tech application.  The sector will also improve its capacity of controling diseases, especially controling dangerous diseases affecting livestock herds and the ones that are likely to spread to human beings...For vision to 2045, the province will develop the local animal husbandry sector into the commodity production one, gradually meeting the demand for food for domestic consumption and export.  Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with relevant departments and sectors in propagating policies on animal husbandry activities; step up the restructuring of the animal husbandry sector, restructure breeding animals in the direction of improving productivity and value; complete groups of animal husbandry development policies; apply technical measures to implement animal husbandry with biosafety.
