Over the past time, the province’s functional agencies actively organized many support activities for farmers and enterprises to build up trademarks and popularize their products in the market. They also attached special importance to expanding distribution channels of Vietnamese goods…
Effectiveness from connection
The province’s sector of industry and trade actively got involved in supporting enterprises over the past time. Accordingly, the sector coordinated with supermarkets, namely Big C, Co.opMart and Citimart, to organize many programs selling goods with stabilized prices. The sector worked with relevant units to set up distribution channels bringing Vietnamese goods to customers; hold market-days of Vietnamese goods in crowded residential areas, industrial parks…
In addition, the sector also made efforts in supporting the local consumption of agricultural products via organizing conferences connecting supply-demand in consumption of citrus fruits, agricultural products; advocating enterprises to popularize their agricultural products for better consumption; making the linkage between producers, distributors and customers…
In 2018 alone, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development mobilized 120 enterprises to take part in expos with the locality’s main products like pomelo, orange, banana, rock melon…This helped 20% of participating enterprises getting connection on supply-demand. For example, Binh Duong Water-Culture Vegetables Company signed contracts supplying nurslings for 3 facilities and transferring the model of growing vegetables by water-culture to partners. Gia Dinh Safe Vegetables Company also got contracts supplying safe vegetables for 5 enterprises…
Nguyen Huu Tam, Vice-Chairman of Bach Dang communal Farmers’ Association in Tan Uyen town said that getting involved in trade promotion activities has helped relevant agencies, units and enterprises to approach distributors, expanding their consumption market. Over the past time, pomelo orchards in the commune welcomed farmers’ delegations at home and abroad while linking with travel companies to receive thousands of visitors, thereby popularizing the “Bach Dang” pomelo trademark.
Last year, the province’s sector of industry and trade organized a trade fair on specific fine art and handicraft items, absorbing 21 enterprises with total revenue of nearly VND500million. The sector also teamed up with relevant units to kick off 11 market-days of Vietnamese goods with the participation of 82 enterprises, luring around 19,500 visitors with total revenue of more than VND1.8billion.
Further expanding distribution channels
According to provincial Steering Board of the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign, Vietnamese goods have well met the market’s demand. Around 80%-90% of goods at province-based supermarkets are domestic ones. This result showed that the campaign has upheld its effectiveness in changing people’s consumption psychology towards Vietnamese goods.
But, implementing programs bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside has still faced obstacles for change. In order to increase the rate of domestic products at distribution channels, enterprises need to improve their products’ quality. They also need to concentrate on domestic market development strategies; improve popularization ways in production-business and apply sci-tech advancements into production-business, aiming to increase competitiveness and help people get access to hi-quality Vietnamese goods…
