Striving to have 100% of communes with products participating in OCOP program by 2025

Early December 28, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to review the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program for the 2018-2020 period; implement a number of directions and solutions for the OCOP Program in the coming time.

OCOP is an endogenous and value-added rural economic development program. The focus of the program is the development of agricultural, non-agricultural goods and services with advantages in each locality along the value chain, in which the implementation subjects are cooperatives, cooperative groups, small and medium-sized enterprises and establishments with business registration. Deploying the OCOP Program in the period of 2018-2022, up to now, the province has had 47 OCOP products certified with 3 stars or more, including 8 four-star products and 39 three-star products. After being recognized, many OCOP products have seen the expansion of consumption market with sales on increase.

The goal is that by 2025, 100% of communes in the province will have products participating in the OCOP Program. There will be at least 150 entities registering to participate in the OCOP Program; at least 80 products with 3 stars or more certified for OCOP ones at provincial level, at least 3 products with 5 stars certified for national OCOP ones.
