Receiving us at the orchid garden with countless beautiful works and blooming flowers, Hoa happily said: "My orchid garden is recognized as a national typical flower garden because the works submitted to the competition have been accepted and won the most prizes in competitions from provinces and cities nationwide. The investment capital for the orchid garden on the land is over VND 1 billion in accordance with the prize voting criteria.”
Few people know that the lady who is recognized as a typical national artist used to work as a hairdresser. To gain the success like today was thanks to the boldness of changes as well as dedication to the passion for orchids. More than 12 years ago, Hoa's main income came from hairdressing. On the occasion of the Farmers Association opening a class to teach bonsai and ornamental plants, Hoa registered to participate. After the course, she started cultivating orchids and tried to get them to sell at her barber shop. The charm of trade helped her sell out quickly, since then she switched to wholesale.
The business from orchids continued smoothly, assuring her that she could develop the orchid profession, and Hoa decided to turn professional. Initially with no orchid garden, she kept on buying goods to sell online at the family's 1,000m2 campus. Customers see her sincerity, so they trust her to introduce them to groups and online communities. Income from orchids at the time had become the major income, Hoa was determined to stop working at the hair salon to devote herself fully to orchids. Profitable capital from orchid business, she began to invest in orchid gardens and expand other gardens. With an orchid garden, customers are even more trustworthy. Up to now, both the rented land and the land of her family are more than 7,000m2 to satisfy her passion and make fortune from orchids.
“I have imported most of the orchid varieties from Thailand and planted them from tissue trees into small pots and then replaced into large pots depending on customer needs. The highlight of my orchid garden is to focus on the sunny denro, which is fragrant, easy to care for, and the color is great. My current strongest consumption market is the North," added Hoa.
Currently, in addition to online sales and wholesale for big stores in the province, Hoa also constructs works from orchids such as flower design for resorts and hotels. Profit from orchids per month is up to several hundred million VND. Born in 1992, the lady is still young, but the results obtained from ornamental orchids are more comparable to her age. At the 2023 Quy Mao Spring Flower Festival, her orchid works excellently won valuable prizes such as consolation prize for fragrant ‘cow’ dendro work, gold award for Kinh 3 dendro work (by Organization Committee of the Association of Binh Duong province), 3 silver prizes from the multi-stemmed orchid (by Ho Chi Minh city Spring Flower Festival Organizing Committee).
With certain success in her hand, Hoa did not forget to contribute to the construction of her homeland. Tran Trung Dung - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Minh Thanh Commune, said: " Hoa is a typical young woman who is dynamic, good at her job, and the will to get rich and create jobs for local workers. In addition to being good at making ornamental flowers, she also regularly participates in local social and charity activities. During the epidemic, Hoa's family sponsored food contributing to helping people overcome hard times.”
