Morning Jun 10, Department of Trade and Industry organized a conference to summarize the cleaner production program, energy audit supporting and energy saving measure program in Binh Duong province for the period 2011 -2015. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of PPC, chaired the meeting; representatives of departments, agencies and People's Committee of localities; associations and enterprises in the province attended the conference.
Binh Duong Industrial Promotion and Development Consultancy Center was assigned to direct the implementation of Cleaner production strategy in industrial production till 2020. After 4 years of implementation, thanks to continuous propaganda and many practical activities of cleaner production, majority industrial enterprises in the province have already recognized the significance, benefits of cleaner production in industrial production; about 25% of industrial production facilities were eligible to apply cleaner production, have applied cleaner production measures and have saved 5-15% of energy consumption and raw materials per product. In the 2011-2015 period, Department of Trade and Industry supported 44 enterprises to audit energy with a total support of VND2.2 billion. At the meeting, the participants exchanged views about cleaner production measures, energy saving in production, cost reduction brought by these 2 programs; and suggested an action plan of energy saving and efficiency to be in line with the socio-economic situation in the coming period.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem appreciated achievements of the trade and industry sector in the last 4 years. In the coming period, he asked the sector to devise new directions, strategies for these 2 programs to be more practical and efficient, consolidating trust from enterprises; coordinate with relevant departments to support enterprises in terms of capital; extensively disseminate and expand good models through many forms for enterprises to better understand the benefits from these programs and participate in the program…
On this occasion, 6 collectives and 1 individual received certificates of merit for excellent performance in implementing these programs in 2011- 2015.
