Supply of goods ensured

Thanks to many solutions effectively implemented over the past time, province-based trade activities have reached robust growth, well meeting people and enterprises’ demand for production, business and consumption.

Further investing in market system

Along with expanding industrial parks, accelerating investment attraction, Binh Duong has attached special importance to trade development towards modernity and diversification of trade forms over the past time. Accordingly, the province has set up a plan on developing markets, supermarkets and plazas till 2020.

The province has also excelled at planning industrial parks, compounds and craft villages in association with markets, supermarkets and plazas; strengthened socialization in constructing material facilities for markets and plazas; accelerated administrative reform, called for organizations and individuals to make investment in trade-services…

According to provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), since early this year, trade infrastructure facilities in the province have continued receiving new investment and being upgraded. Many rural markets, including Binh My market in North Tan Uyen district’s Binh My commune, Tru Van Tho market in Bau Bang district’s Tru Van Tho commune…, have been constructed under the national target program on new rural construction. The whole province has till now had a total of 106 markets, 11 supermarkets and 3 plazas. Upon this, the province’s trade sector has always obtained stable development with abundant supply of goods. Province-based retail businesses have also launched a wide range of promotional programs, contributing to increasing the local retail sales revenue of commodities and services.

Ensuring supply of goods

Ho Van Binh, Vice-Director of provincial DoIT said that provincial DoIT will further carry out a project on trade-services development to 2020. Accordingly, the sector will focus on perfecting infrastructure facilities of markets as planned; effectively tap newly-built markets; continue accelerating administrative procedures; create favorable conditions for people to get access to capital sources for production expansion; attach special importance to fostering hi-tech services…

Regarding solutions to stabilize the market, creating a solid foundation for increasing the local retail value, provincial DoIT has issued a document asking for enterprises to set up plans, forecast purchasing power in the province at year-end. Provincial DoIT has also encouraged new businesses in provincial market price stabilization program to further work with producers to ensure supply of essential commodities like rice, salt, sugar…for people on the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

Representatives of province-based retailers, namely Co.opMart, Big C, Lotte…said that this year’s purchasing power in the province will be higher than that of the previous year. This is because the province’s economy has continued reaching stable growth and the lives of locals have continued being improved.

With a policy of mobilizing units and enterprises to take part in provincial market price stabilization program, locals may feel secure when buying commodities at year-end because of stable prices.

In October, the province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at more than VND14.29trillion, a year-on-year increase of 18.3%. The figure over the past ten months was estimated at more than VND131.57trillion, a year-on-year increase of 18.1%.
