Supporting enterprises towards sustainable development

In 2025, Binh Duong province aims at achieving double-digit economic growth. To contribute to this goal, all-level authorities and sectors in the province are making strong efforts to support enterprises and investors in effectively seizing opportunities for production and business development.

Accelerating digital transformation

Nguyen Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong Furniture Association said that the current challenges for enterprises are increasingly fierce competition in the market, strict requirements on carbon emissions... These factors have increased production costs and reduced profits for enterprises. Industries’ associations and enterprises proposed to consider policies to support production development and more effective digital transformation for enterprises to meet current requirements.

Production activities at Orion Vina Food Co., Ltd. in Ben Cat city

Park Se Yeol, General Director of Orion Vina Food Co., Ltd. shared that upgrading a nearly 30-year-old factory into a smart factory, applying technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)…was no small challenge. However, Vietnamese engineers at Becamex IDC and VNTT have demonstrated confidence, competence and strong implementation capabilities. Orion’s experience highlights the importance of collaborating with experts in alignment with its strategic direction to achieve the best outcomes.

“The first phase of the project is almost completed. In the next phase, Orion aims at finalizing a fully automated system for managing and operating production via Manufacturing Execution System (MES), connected to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for comprehensive management. Our ultimate goal is to establish autonomous production lines and human resources previously involved will be retrained to monitor and operate these smart systems”, said Mr. Park Se Yeol.

Strengthening support for businesses

Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade stated that the digital transformation revolution under Industry 4.0, particularly the shift from traditional factory systems to smart factory models is taking place rapidly and vigorously. The smart factory model enables relevant departments to take a more proactive role in balancing resources and aligning production plans with delivery deadlines.

In April 2025, provincial leaders held a working session with leaders of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. to discuss cooperation on the “Smart Factory Development Support Project in Binh Duong”. During the meeting, representative of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co.Ltd. shared the results and limitations from three years of implementing smart factory support initiatives. In 2025, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. plans to support the development of smart factories for enterprises with the potential to become future suppliers to the company. Enterprises in auxiliary industry may supply Samsung with products in such fields as smartphones, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and robotic vacuum cleaners.

Shim Sang Yong, Director of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd.’s Partner Support Division stated that the criteria for selecting enterprises to support in developing smart factories include industries, workforce size, human resources, leadership commitment, and financial capability to invest in smart factory construction. The company also shared various approaches that enterprises can choose from to develop smart factories as well as the selection process, project implementation timeline and support project progress…

Park Se Yeol, General Director of Orion Vina Food Co., Ltd. said: “We highly appreciate the smart factory solution developed by Becamex IDC and VNTT. It features a modern architecture, comprehensive and intelligent functionality, fully meeting stringent international standards while remaining cost-effective. Particularly, upgrading our nearly 30-year-old factory into a smart factory, integrating technologies such as IoT, AI, and Big Data was no small challenge. However, Vietnamese engineers at Becamex IDC and VNTT have shown us their confidence, capacity for very good implementation.
