In recent years, supporting industries of textile, footwear, mechanics, electricity - electronics, wood processing etc. in the province have developed strongly, made an important contribution to provincial growth of industrial production.

 To attract many investors

Recently, Binh Duong has attracted many big projects investing in supporting industries. Specifically, Core Electronics Company, Dai Dang Industrial Park (Thu Dau Mot City), specializes in manufacturing copper coils, magnetic cores, and circuit boards for electronic industry; KyungBang Vietnam Company (Korea) has a total investment of $179.2 million, specializing in producing yarns for textile industry; Kymco Binh Duong factory with a total initial investment of over $20 million, manufacturing frames, powder coating, engine assembly...

Currently, in the province there are about 2,400 production and business enterprises related to supporting industry. Notably, most large-scale projects licensed by provincial government recently are in high-tech and supporting industries.

Recently, Tetra Pak Group (Sweden) - a multinational corporation providing food packaging and processing solutions, opened a factory with an investment capital of up to €120 million in Vietnam - Singapore 2 Industrial Park. Products of the factory are supplied for domestic market and export.

Attracting many foreign investors with a large amount of capital into supporting industries shows that Binh Duong has been well prepared for stable and sustainable development.

To enhance joint production

The province has initially formed a joint production between domestic enterprises and foreign investment enterprises in supporting industries. This linkage enables domestic enterprises to gradually access advanced technologies and participate in global value chains.

However, supporting industries in the country in general, in Binh Duong in particular, have not been assessed to meet the demand for raw materials for production, so domestic enterprises still depend on imported raw materials. Jeffrey Fielkow, CEO of Tetra Pak Vietnam, said the liquid food market in Vietnam was growing strongly and expected to keep growing in the near future. The company wants to find the right suppliers in Binh Duong to connect to the global link chain. But currently, no company here meets plastic standards of Tetra Pak's manufacturing processes.

Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, said that in order to continue creating breakthroughs and innovations in investment attraction, Binh Duong province issued a program and a plan to change investment attraction method in the 2016-2020 period. Accordingly, the province gives priority to production projects with high technology and added value, encourages investment in supporting industries in fields of manufacturing, assembling machinery, equipment, and electronics. In the coming time, the province will soon complete the planning for raw material and supporting industry developing areas...

In order to realize the objectives of supporting industry development, the province has also been implemented well solutions on local human resource development. Accordingly, the province attaches importance to linking local human resource training programs with countries in the region and the world meeting international standardization. The province is currently implementing it at Eastern International Universities and Vietnam-Germany University.
