Founded in 1997, the Supportive Fund for Farmers is to help farmer members build and expand models of production and business, contributing to transfer economic structure, improve income and local farmers’ life. Thanks to the fund’s capital sources, many farmer families across the province escape poverty and make wealth.

Capital is offered timely
Over the past time, the provincial Farmers’ Society sets out many measures to support capital for farmer members through projects from central to local levels. These good deeds help many members get more capital sources to expand production and business.
Along with capital mobilization from the Bank for Social Policies, the Supportive Fund for Farmers really becomes a solid mainstay for members. At present, the fund’s total capital is at nearly VND24bil, over VND5bil of which are from the central, 10bil from the provincial Farmers’ Society, the remaining from district and communal farmers’ societies.
From the capital sources, the provincial Farmers’ Society offers loans worth VND10-30mil for more than 2,300 households.
Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung, vice chairwoman of the provincial Farmers’ Society said that with the preferential interest rate of 0.5-0.7% per year, plus simple procedures, the Fund offers incentive conditions for poor members to develop homebased business, improve their spiritual and material life.
Obvious efficiency
In order to get efficiency of lending capital, cadres of Farmers’ Society at all levels spur mobilization to transfer structure of plants and species in conformity with conditions of every locality and family. This way contributes to help farmers develop homebased economy and make wealth. Therefore, rate of capital refund wins 100%.
Le Hoai Khanh in Long Nguyen commune, Bau Bang district said that thanks to a VND30mil loan of the supportive fund for farmers, he raises French pigeons, chickens and plants rubber trees. Every year, he reaps a profit of over VND100mil. Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Ngan in An Tay commune, Ben Cat town enjoys an income of over VND200mil per year from planting orchard and raising fish. His achievements are thanks to the initial capital of VND30mil supported by the Fund. Ngan revealed “My family enjoyed assistance from the Fund’s leaders, so I enjoy a comfortable life”.
At present, the province has nearly 1,000 farmsteads, over 1,300 cooperative teams, so on. More than 15 years of operation, the Fund has helped more than 15,000 farmer households with the total capital of over VND43bil.
Nhung added that in the coming time, the provincial Farmers’ Society continues to set up fund sources to launch for farmers. In the final half of this year, the society will disburse VND7.6bil to localities. Aside from capital support, the society will cooperate with agencies to hold training courses on technical transfer for members, helping them develop homebased economy sustainably and simultaneously spurring the movement of good farmers in production and business for the sake of hastening rural industrialization and modernization.
