Early November 29, provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with Taiwanese businesses, which was presided over Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee. Attending the event were leaders of relevant agencies and representatives of Taiwanese businesses in the province.

According to provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the province over the past 11 months absorbed more than US$2.51billion in FDI capital, surpassing 79% of the year’s plan and increasing by 127% compared to the same period last year. So far, the province has granted investment licenses to 3,027 FDI projects from investors in 64 countries and territories around the world with a total investment capital of US$28.28billion. Among foreign investors in the province, Taiwan has taken the lead with US$5.8billion or around 20% of total FDI capital flowing into the province.
At the meeting, tens of contributive ideas by Taiwanese businesses received satisfactory answers from provincial People’s Committee, helping the Taiwanese community feel secure and put trust on the local investment climate.
Mr.Liem said that the province will further improve the local investment climate, competitiveness and boost support for businesses in general and the Taiwanese business community in particular.
