According to statistics, localities’ population in the southeastern region accounts for 16.34% of the country’s total. Their State budget collection occupies two thirds of the country’s total. Initial efficiency
Localities in the southeastern region have cooperated with the HCM city-based Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods to give more support to Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnamese goods in the region.
In the first half of 2012, Binh Duong provincial Department of Industry and Trade has organized 4 market-days in Phu Giao district’s An Binh, Phuoc Hoa communes, Tan Uyen district’s Hoi Nghia commune and VSIP 1. They have absorbed 83 enterprises with 135 booths and 40,000 visitors with the total revenue of nearly VND2.77bln. Dissemination of information about the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” have been sped up via the mass media.
A market-day of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”
Meanwhile, HCM city has promoted the program of “bringing Vietnamese goods to Vietnamese people” through organizing market-days for workers, accelerating construction of supermarkets and stores at industrial and export processing zones…The city has also set up 27 projects with a total investment capital of more than VND2.73trillion to implement the programs of supporting Vietnamese goods; launched a competition on slogans propagandizing the campaign themed “I love Vietnamese goods”; organized a forum named “Vietnamese youths give priority to using Vietnamese goods”…
Dong Nai provincial Department of Industry and Trade has also held 3 market-days for workers at Cam Duong rubber plantation in Cam My district, Bien Hoa II Industrial Park and Long Thanh Industrial Park together with 7 market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” in districts of Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc, Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom and Long Khanh; opened training courses, seminars to promote the efficiency in development of the eastern market.
In a bid to develop Vietnamese goods, Binh Phuoc province has forwarded trade fairs in Loc Ninh district and Binh Long town with the participation of more than 100 enterprises, securing nearly VND2bln in total revenue; created favorable conditions for enterprises to organize mobile sales program in the remote areas…
Close cooperation needed
According to Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial Department of Industry and Trade, close cooperation between producers, retailers and distributors are needed to promote Vietnamese goods. This will help Vietnamese goods dominate the rural market and create favorable conditions for rural people to get access to Vietnamese goods with high quality and cheap price.
Localities in the southeastern region also need to quickly perfect rural trade infrastructure, help enterprises develop their distribution system; regularly organize regional trade fairs via the national trade promotion program; speed up dissemination of information about the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” via the mass media…
Representative from Dong Nai provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that close cooperation between producers, distributors and customers need to be boosted to create a professional goods distribution chain that is capable of competing with FDI enterprises.
At a recent seminar on eastern market development, the Government has also been suggested to have support policies on investment capital for rural markets and concentrated ones; instruct general companies to develop their distribution network for essential goods like rice, sugar, milk, fertilizer, steel…in rural communes…
