Vo Minh Tan, Deputy Director of Tan My Fruit Tree Cooperative (North Tan Uyen), said that due to favorable weather and well care for citrus trees, the productivity of pomelos in his cooperation increased by 30% compared to 2017. Currently, this cooperative’s pomelos are bought by supermarkets at a high price, specifically, from 74,000 VND to 55,000 VND / kg. Predictably, pomelo prices could further increase before Tet holidays. The cooperative ensures sufficient supply of pomelos according to signed contracts with their partners.
At this time, members of Tan My Fruit Tree Cooperative are busy harvesting fruits to serve Tet demands. Currently, pomelo is a fruit that are in high demands. It is expected during Lunar New Year 2019, all pomelo output of the cooperative (estimated at about 330 tons) would be sold to supermarkets.
