In a bid to associate new rural construction with urban development towards civilization and modernity, Tan Uyen town has focused on mobilizing all sources to build infrastructure facilities, promoting economic growth and increasing people’s income.
Strong investment in basic construction
Tan Uyen town has attached special importance to basic construction, facilitating the local investment attraction and industrial development. In 2015 alone, total investment capital for the town’s basic construction is more than VND164bln. Since early this year, the town’s total volume of basic construction implemented has been estimated at VND138.1bln.

So far, the town has worked out some key works like town’s general hospital; fulfilled a rural work of 360 meters; upgraded 11 other rural works with a total length of more than 7,571km…
Doan Hong Tuoi, Vice-Chairman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee cum Head of the town’s Steering Board of New Rural Construction Program said that despite having limited State budget, the town has still concentrated on urban rejuvenation. The town now receives investment from the province for major streets like DT746, DT747…and continues making urban rejuvenation in wards.
In the coming time, the town will further promote socio-economic infrastructure development, make a shift of economic structure; brace up economic sectors to invest in the field of agriculture and rural development.
Striving to reach criteria of new rural construction program in 2015
Tan Uyen town has made efforts in the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Till now, the town’s 2 communes Thanh Hoi and Bang Dang have continued retaining the title of “new rural commune”. Tan Vinh Hiep commune has also reached all 19 criteria of the new rural construction program while communes Vinh Tan, Hoi Nghia and Phu Chanh have fulfilled 18 out of 19 criteria of the program.
The town’s People’s Committee said that the contents of the rural construction program have brought into the resolutions of Party organizations at all levels of the town in order to well realize the “All people joining hands in new rural construction” movement. This is also a foundation for the town to continue effectively implementing the new rural construction program in the coming time.
The town in the first half of the year mobilized all sources of more than VND54.9bln to carry out the new rural construction program. Noticeably, the town’s new rural construction program has received enthusiastic response from the local people.
Huynh Thanh Tung who has made contributions to the new rural construction program in Thanh Hoi commune said that the program has brought the commune a new image. The local rural traffic system has been built very spaciously, making people feel secure for production. “My family donated over 1,000 square meters of land to help the locality fulfill an in-field traffic system, serving people’s demand for irrigation”, he said.
Regarding agricultural production, Tan Uyen town has formed up specialized areas on fruit trees and attached special importance to hi-tech agricultural models. The whole town has so far had nearly 300 farming households to get involved in growing various pomelos on a total area of more than 60 hectares with support policies in terms of loans, nurslings, techniques…The town has also developed some plants with high economic value at market’s demand like Bach Dang pomelo, Linh Chi mushroom…
According to Mr.Tuoi, the town will promote effective agricultural models, apply sci-tech advancements into production to increase agricultural products’ productivity and quality, contributing to enhancing people’s income.
