Part 1: Industrialization process promoted
A
ceremony announcing the establishment of Tan Uyen town will be held on March 30
ahead under the decision of Prime Minister of Government. After many years of
construction, Tan Uyen has risen up strongly. It has focused on industrialization
process, creating a new image with great development in terms of industry,
trade-services and urbanization. 
Industrial manufacture as a lever for development
Tan Uyen has concentrated on building industrial parks to create a motivation for the local economic development. In 2013, Tan Uyen’s industrial production value reached VND7.882trillion, up 11% compared to 2012. Of these, the domestic investment sector gained VND2.654trillion, up 10.21% while the foreign investment sector achieved VND5.228trillion, up 11.8%. The proportion of industrial manufacture accounted for 58.8% of the local economic structure.
So far, Tan Uyen town has absorbed 678 domestic enterprises licensed with a total registered capital of nearly VND 9trillion and 323 FDI ones with a total registered capital of nearly US$3.174trillion.
The town is now home to 2 industrial parks, namely South Tan Uyen and Tan Binh-Vinh Tan; 3 industrial compounds, namely Phu Chanh, Tan Hiep and Uyen Hung. South Tan Uyen industrial park has perfected its infrastructure facilities with 331 hectares in total. It has also absorbed 82 projects with the rate of tenancy reaching 82% of total area and is expanding by 300 hectares. Meanwhile, Tan Binh-Vinh Tan industrial-urban park has a total projected area of 1,000 hectares with the rate of tenancy of 30% of total area. The remaining industrial compounds are under construction.
Industrial parks, compounds together with Thanh Phuoc port, logistics centers and main streets of the region going through Tan Uyen are great potentials for the local economy to gain a sustainable and fast development. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee said that the town has paid attention to arranging investment projects into industrial parks and compounds; limited projects causing environmental pollution; promoted industrial manufacture in association with urban development, lured clean and modern industries, auxiliary ones…
During the local industrial development process, leaders of Tan Uyen town has attached special importance to chatting with enterprises, helping them remove difficulties in production and business; well realized regulations on reforming administrative procedures...
Trade-services on rapid growth
Along with urbanization and industrial development, Tan Uyen town’s trade-services sector has reached a rapid development.
Tan Uyen town now has 2 trade centers, namely Uyen Hung and Tan Phuoc Khanh plus 11 markets and around 2,432 trade facilities. Possibly speaking, the town’s trade system has basically met the local people’s essential demand for shopping.
The town’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services last year was VND4.554trillion, up 18.22% compared to 2012. The town also granted business licenses to 2,520 cases with a total investment capital of around VND50.8bln.
In addition, 8 eco-tourism projects with a total area of around 390 hectares approved by provincial People’s Committee will be the potential and advantage of Tan Uyen to promote the local tourist sector and other relevant services. The town is also home to famous resorts, namely Green Eye, Ham Tan Dang…
The industrialization and urbanization process of Tan Uyen town has gained rapid, sustainable paces of development, absorbing a lot of projects in the local industrial parks and compounds…All have affirmed the position of a locality full of potentials for development. Tan Uyen today has actually changed with a comprehensive development in terms of industry, services and urban system.
