 Exploit the advantages of waterways

In March 2024, the Ministry of Finance recognized the customs clearance location at Thanh Phuoc Dry Port (Tan Uyen City). This is considered a key solution to unlocking logistics potential in Binh Duong in general and Tan Uyen City in particular. Mr. Nguyen Tran Hieu, Head of the Regional Customs Branch XVI, said that according to Development Plan of dry port system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Thanh Phuoc dry port is located on Dak Nong - Binh Phuoc - Ho Chi Minh City transport corridor, connected to DT747A road, National Highway 13 and Dong Nai River inland waterway, with an operating capacity of 100,000-170,000 TEU/year by 2030 and located near the connection location with 14 industrial parks (IPs), large industrial clusters in Tan Uyen City and North Tan Uyen district such as Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park 2A, Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park 3, Dat Cuoc Industrial Park... and connecting to some important ports, such as Binh Duong General Port, Hiep Phuoc Port, Cat Lai Port (Ho Chi Minh City), Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port Cluster...

Businesses have expressed that the establishment of Thanh Phuoc Dry Port as a location for customs procedures for domestic import and export creates significant convenience. Instead of having to transport goods to seaports in Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau for customs procedures, businesses can now handle these processes directly at Thanh Phuoc Port. This change will shorten transportation times, reduce costs, lessen the burden on ports in Ho Chi Minh City, and alleviate traffic congestion.

With a favorable location, being an important area of the province in socio-economic development, along with preferential policies, Tan Uyen City is increasingly creating strong attraction for investors. Up to now, the city has attracted 2,722 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of over VND57,733 billion and 1,120 foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of over US$6.85 billion.

Create momentum in the new phase

To transform into a dynamic, prosperous, and civilized city, Tan Uyen City is prioritizing urban planning. According to the revised planning project, Tan Uyen aims to develop into an industrial-service-agricultural urban area that incorporates eco-tourism by 2030. By 2040, the city is set to evolve into an industrial-service urban area, serving as a regional traffic hub while still integrating agriculture and eco-tourism. The focus will be on fostering clean industry with advanced technology.

According to the Tourism Development Plan of Binh Duong Province to 2020, with a vision to 2030, Tan Uyen City is chosen as a location to develop river ecotourism and garden ecotourism on Bach Dang Islet and Thanh Hoi Islet. Currently, Tan Uyen City is resolutely implementing the Project "Tan Uyen City Tourism Development to 2025, with a vision to 2030".

Consulting on the development orientation of tourism products for Tan Uyen City, experts and scientists pointed out types such as ecological community tourism, resort tourism combined with picnics, sports, entertainment, and experiential learning tourism. In particular, the city needs to take advantage of advantage of being adjacent to the Dong Nai River, with potential historical and cultural relic sites such as Rua Islet, Vinh Loi Relic Site, ceramic, rattan, and bamboo production facilities, along with ecological garden houses on Bach Dang Islet and Thanh Hoi Islet...

According to Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of People's Committee of Tan Uyen City, it can be said that the Project "Tan Uyen City Tourism Development to 2025, with a vision to 2030" is a new breakthrough to make tourism an important economic sector of the city. The project contributes to orienting the development of local tourism, which is one of the three development pillars in the urban industrial - service - tourism development strategy; in which eco-tourism is the core.

Along with that, taking advantage of its location next to the Dong Nai River, Tan Uyen City also plans a port urban area - logistics services with an area of about 2,286 hectares in Thanh Phuoc ward and part of Thai Hoa ward, Khanh Binh ward. The function of the port and logistics urban area serves the industrial parks of Binh Duong and neighboring areas. In particular, the 330-hectare urban core area invests in Thanh Phuoc Port, Thai Hoa Port and develops regional trade services, logistics services; develops low-density types combined with green parks along Dong Nai River and Cai Stream; develops urban agriculture combined with eco-tourism; develops ports along Dong Nai River.

Tan Uyen City is urgently implementing urban upgrading, focusing on investing in a number of infrastructure projects such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, the road to Thanh Phuoc Port and Bach Dang 2 Bridge, expanding DT742 and DT747A roads... passing through the city; exploiting public land funds to build social and technical infrastructure works; solving social security and improving the living standards of urban residents. The city focuses on investing in technical infrastructure of routes such as Uyen Hung - Thu Dau Mot Avenue, Nam Tan Uyen Avenue, the road to Thanh Phuoc Port, Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge; building urban development areas along Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4; continuing to invest in logistics infrastructure combined with river ports.

Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Uyen City, said that in order to concretize the local socio-economic development orientations, Tan Uyen City always creates favorable conditions for organizations, individuals, and economic sectors to invest in production development, build infrastructure; exploit the city's potential and strengths... to serve socio-economic development, improve people's lives; contribute to creating new positions and forces to promote the development of Tan Uyen City in the coming time.
