Le Van Quy, chairman of Tan Uyen district’s Farmers’ Society said that the local Farmers’Society has over time promoted the movement of “Good farmers in production and business” among members.
Over the past five years, the movement
of “Good farmers in production and business” saw development in both depth and
width. More than 10,000 farmer households registered to implement the movement,
7,720 of which won the title of “good farmer in production and business” at all
levels.

The society coordinated with the local Division of Economics, Agricultural Promotion Station, Plant Protection Station, Animal Health Division and enterprises to organize thousands of training courses on sci-tech transfer in cultivation and animal husbandry together with hundreds of relevant seminars with the participation of tens of thousands of turns of farmers.
In addition, the society teamed up with the Vocational Training Center under provincial Farmers’ Society and the district’s Vocational Junior College to open 28 training classes on how to tend rubber trees and tap their latex, how to grow mushroom and safe vegetable…Mr.Quy said that these classes aimed to help farmers select and develop agricultural production models that must be line with the local conditions on soil and weather as well as market’s demand.
The society has also created favorable conditions for farmers to get access to loans in order to promote new production and business models. Over the past five years, the society helped nearly 12,000 turns of farmers to get more than VND71bln in loan. Mr.Quy said that most of them have properly used the loan with the models of growing rubber, ornamental trees…, contributing to improving their lives.
Thanks to the attention and help of the local government and Farmers’ Society, Ho Van Thanh’s family in Tan Thanh commune has risen up out of poverty. His family’s annual income is now between VND90mln and VND100mln. In addition to breeding pigs and chickens, his family has so far got involved in the models of breeding fish and growing rubber trees.
According to Mr.Quy, the local Farmers’ Society will further attach special importance to implementing the effective models on cultivation and animal husbandry while effectively exploiting loans, especially those from the local Support Fund for Farmers and the local Bank for Social Policy…to remove farmers’ difficult regarding loans.
